Just

Being next to you

Holding your hand

Intertwining our fingers

Hugging each other

Holding each other...

It feels like

A privilege

It feels like joy

It feels like a rush

It feels like the ocean thundering over the shores

And resonating within and bursting out from

My chest

Thump... Thump...

And the ocean roars

Across my face

Up to my shoulders

With the sound in my ears

As I am overwhelmed by the tides

Yes

Glorious, heady overwhelm

More incredible than sex, power, money or any drug

The incredible sensation of being with you

In my mind, my breast, my body

A wing-stretching freedom alights

Of everything feeling so right

So much more than complete

So full and so whole

So resplete

With no need for respite

As I feel like both victory and defeat

Both beautiful things

When I'm with you

For to be vulnerable and exposed feels powerful and triumphant

As with you

I am both safe and strong

Protected and protector

Our hearts fight battles together, alongside

Side by side and back to back

Hand in hand and hands freed

Both to fight what's wrong and to embrace each other

Clasped

We clasp onto each other

Hold onto ourselves

Take each other's hearts in our chests

And hands once again in our hands

As I pledge mine and you yours

Let us not release

Each other, for

I don't ever want to be parted from you

I want the tides of our oceans to meet and flow together

Our hearts, minds and bodies stay together

One symphonic sound, one Jackson Pollock of glorious colour, one crescendo that builds - our hearts' roar - as together, eyes connected, we remain

Together

Whether in the silence, the bustle

Or in joy or in pain

Through searing sunshine

And flooding rain

Through life's blood bonded, our hearts pump their synergy of an existence, together

Let us never, nevermore be apart

From today

For we belong

At once for all

This way
